#1 – SEWER PERMIT: Get this permit from the Vernon Parish  Health Unit located next to Byrd Hospital in Leesville.  A temporary permit will be faxed to VPPJ and your electric company once a percolation test is run.  Bring your legal description with a plat drawing.  If you don’t have this with you, you can go to the Tax Assessor’s office to get a copy.  They are located at 301 E. Courthouse Street (the old library).

#2 – 911 PERMIT:  Get this permit number from the E911 office.  Not necessary to go to the office.   Call (337) 238-9911 to get you your permit number.  An actual 911 address will not be assigned to you until your front door is in place.

#3 – BUILDING PERMIT:  Get this permit from the Vernon Parish Police Jury Public Works Dept.  It is located on Hwy 28 (Alexandria Hwy) about 5 miles out from Hwy 171.  There is a BIG green sign on the right hand side of the road directly at the driveway.  Please bring the above permits and a legal description of your property.  If building a house, bring 2 sets of house plans.  There is a fee for this permit.  Please call (337) 239-9933 with any questions.
